just out of the dye pot

dyed silk, Shetland wool and angora fibres

September 25, 2014 Dye pot

Shetland, angora, and silk in this pot. The picture does not do the colours justice though.  I’ve learned more than I wanted to know about colour balance, colour channels and the processing of picture data. All this because it was very clear that my ipad was not going to show these fibres as they appear.   Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on how to photograph yarn and fibre and with what. I’m busy checking out camera reviews and articles on photographing your product. I’ll post links to anything useful.

Still having a problem with uploading the pictures, but it hasn’t stopped me from throwing more fleece in the pot.
Dyed some Minerva and a bit of the white BlueFaced Leicester yesterday. Just have to figure out where to put it to dry. Jewel tone blues and teal and rust, with splashes of red and yellow. I will attach a picture as soon as i can.
